How this directory grades security
Safest AI App Builder lists 22 tools in the safest ai app builder space. What makes it different from a normal tool directory is the grading layer: each listing carries a security grade derived from first-party scans of real, publicly shipped apps built with that tool. Not vendor claims, not compliance badges, not aggregated third-party statistics. Apps that actually shipped, scanned the same way an attacker would first look at them.
What the scan checks
The scan engine is passive and read-only. It never attempts exploitation, never writes data, and only looks at what an app already exposes to any visitor. Per app it checks for things like:
- Database tables readable without authentication (for example Supabase tables with row-level security disabled or permissive)
- API keys, service keys, and other secrets present in the served JavaScript bundle
- Endpoints that return private data without checking auth
- Shipped source maps and debug artifacts that expose server logic
- Missing security headers and other launch-readiness basics
How a grade is computed
Findings are aggregated per tool: of the N sampled apps built with tool X, what share had each class of finding. The grade summarizes that aggregate. Every published number carries its sample size and scan date, and no number is published from a sample too small to defend.

One thing a grade is not: a judgment of the vendor's own infrastructure security. It describes what people who build with the tool actually ship. A great platform can still earn a poor aggregate if its defaults make it easy to ship an open database, and that gap is exactly what this site exists to document.
Current dataset status
Honest status: the first aggregate scan dataset is in progress and no grades are published yet. Every listing currently shows a "not yet scanned" state rather than a placeholder number, because a grade without a defensible sample behind it would be marketing, not measurement. Grades and per-tool statistics appear here as the dataset ships, with sample sizes and scan dates attached.
Independence and money
The directory is maintained by Continuum, which also builds a security scanner in this space. That is disclosed on the relevant listings, and competing scanners are listed on the same terms as everything else. The site may later carry clearly labeled sponsored placements or affiliate links; if and when it does, they will be marked, and they will never change a grade or a listing's content. Grades are not for sale.
Corrections and submissions
Think a listing is wrong, outdated, or missing? Submit a tool or a correction. A human reviews everything before it goes live.
